One thing that you can do is to hold onto the thought that these mood sgwins are just that- sgwins. When you bottom out, you know that you're going to swing back up again.I've never had such rapid, severe mood sgwins myself so I'm speaking only from theory. Still, when I've been depressed, it has helped to acknowledge that no matter how shitty I felt at the moment, I was eventually going to feel better again.It's something that your rational half can hang onto, anyway.Best wishes for finding a psychiatrist you can work with. And remember that your friends are thinking of you. You may not value yourself right now, but other people value you.If it's any help, there's a small amount of evidence that sleep is not the answer to depression. It's an escape, but not a solution. Rather, if you break the usual sleep/wake cycle by skipping even one night's sleep, there is a chance that your mood will begin to lift faster than it would otherwise. It is possible that this works by resetting some chemistry in your brain; no one really knows. Worth a try, if you can cope with an all-nighter.
