Dr. Oz's serotonin/dopamine booster

Postby Zooie » Tue Jun 08, 2010 12:01 am

Saw this today on Dr. Oz's show. The first one costs money, the second one is free, and does the same thing.

You can pay $100 to buy an inversion contraption (slide feet into straps and swing yourself upside down). It not only helps the spinal column to stretch, thus taking pressure off discs, but the additional blood to the head causes a rise in serotonin and dopamine, helping your mood.

But if you want the free method, and you aren't old like I am, ;-) get into an easy chair and place yourself upside down, head on/near the ground and feet up to the top of the chair. Does the same thing!

I would never have thought gravity was to blame for BP!
Take it one day at a time, or whatever.

So in my case with mania being the problem, I should keep myself in an upright position at all times :-)
Please, would you one time
let me be myself
so I can shine with my own light.
Let me be myself...

That's all I ever wanted from this world,
is to let me be me.

Oh dear, no offense to Dr. Oz, but he should have added a qualifyer that you have to be coordinated, small in stature, and (ahem) younger. But I had a good laugh. I really tried, but my legs just wouldn't go up that far, then I fell out of the damn chair (well, sideways, and caught myself before I broke something important). Maybe I'll just bend over.
